‘KALAGURU’, a word blending of owner Mother’s name ‘Kalabai’ and his Father’s name ‘Gurunamal’. It was year 1989 (20th October), when Sarju Goklani with his father decided to advance in business from a small restaurant to Cement Trading. Today, after 31 years of perseverance, the company has a tenacious hold on the market, and they are among one of the most renowned families in the city. After an arduous journey of several years, they have spread their wings in Land Development, Construction Business, Construction materials shop, Banquet halls, Stone Crushers, Water Tank Manufacturing, Jewellery Shop and much more.

‘Shyam and Brothers’ known for Cement and Lime supplier today was earlier known as ‘Shyam Trading’. ‘Shyam Trading’ was inaugurated in the year 1989, by Sarju Goklani and his father. In the same year they purchased their first land for commercial use. Later in the year 1995, they expanded their business by starting the Flooring Business (Tiles, Marbles and other stone flooring) with the name ‘Pankaj Tile’s and Marbles’. Soon it become one of the acclaimed firms in the district for Flooring material.

In the early 20th century they decided to step in the Land development business and as a result of the accomplishment in the new venture, a new idea was formulated. Soon, they stepped into the Construction business by the name ‘Kalaguru Builders and Developers’ and they started working for the goal “SABKA GHAR APNA”

which can be explicated as ‘There should be no tenant left in the city, everyone should have their own houses.’ They started their construction venture with only 4 units in the year 2009 and today with their enduring hard work they have completed around 1200 row houses (sold) and developed around 100 acres of land.

During the second half of first decade of 2000’s, they have established themselves into few more businesses. Starting with the Stone crusher business by the name ‘Manudevi Stone crusher’ which was later sold in the year 2008, Banquet Halls ‘Kalaguru Mangal Bhavan’ and ‘Nakshatra Mangal Karyalay’, Rental and Lease of properties, Water Tank manufacturing plant ‘Sai Industries’ with product named ‘Gauri Water Tank’. In the year 2012 Jewellery Store was opened in the city, by the name ‘Kalaguru Jewellers’ and a private IDC (31 industries) with all the infrastructure and approval in the year 2015. ‘Kalaguru Tower’ is one of their prestigious project in the city which includes 92 shops , Hotel Midtown, AC banquet hall, AC conference room and a Multiplex.(Restaurant)

Kalaguru group has come a long way from its small kitchen/cement business to well established several businesses. Kalaguru Group has provided service to the city with the employment, Infrastructure for the city, Venu for gathering celebration, supply of construction materials, etc. and will continue to provide even stronger services in future with both hands.
